Today I had the distinct pleasure of attending one of Joe McNally’s location lighting workshops today in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Joe brings in a fine staff of assistants along with a collection of professional models including (pictured here with Joe and I) “the Lovely” John Starace, here in his turnout gear from his previous career as a NYC Fire Fighter.
We had a great day experimenting with a variety of lighting tools in several different locations around the building. Joe has a great way of sharing his knowledge and encouraging experimentation and creativity. While not all of the information you’re exposed to in workshops like this one is “new”, it’s the chance to get together with new faces and see different approaches that others have that can really help get you out of your comfortable rut and back to exploring new trails!!! Thanks again to one and all for a great day! -S
